The National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index shows builder confidence in the market for new, single-family homes held steady at 16 for the third-straight month in January. The index gauges builders’ perception of the housing market. A number below 50 indicates more builders view conditions as poor than good. The components gauging current sales conditions and expectations for the next six months were both unchanged from the previous month, while the index gauging traffic of prospective buyers rose one point.
